Schools represent a largely untapped resource for solar generation acting as Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), feeding surplus energy back into the grid and further building the ACT's renewable energy capacity. ​
Investing in improving public transport, with more frequent buses, including on weekends and public holidays, and more routes. This will allow more families to rely on public transport for their daily commutes without sacrificing valuable time.
Dedicated free school buses with minimal walking to school bus stops will assure parents that their kids are safe to take a bus to school and reduces cars on the roads.
Promoting electric vehicles isn’t enough to meet our climate goals, as this will not address traffic congestion or the emissions involved in the production and disposal of vehicles. To truly tackle climate change, we need to rethink how we move around our city by making it easier, safer, and more affordable to travel without a car.
